How Employers and Trainees claim Federal Incentives

The Apprenticeships Data Management System (ADMS) is the online platform used by employers and apprentices/trainees to manage their Australian Apprenticeships and claim Federal Government incentives. These incentives are designed to support businesses and individuals undertaking nationally recognised training.

Federal Incentives are administered and managed by the Apprentice Connect Australia Provider. Australian Vocational Academy does not have access to or can provide support on incentive claims.

Employers

Steps for Employers to Claim Incentives
Employers who hire apprentices or trainees may be eligible for Federal Government incentives. The claims process through the ADMS portal follows these key steps:

Step 1: Employer Registration & Initial Eligibility Assessment
Employers must first sign up to the ADMS portal.
An Australian Apprenticeship Support Network (AASN) provider assesses eligibility for incentives.
The employer receives notification of incentive eligibility.
Step 2: Lodging the Claim
Once eligibility is confirmed, employers must:

Log in to the ADMS portal using their registered account.
Navigate to the Incentives & Payments section.
Select the relevant apprentice/trainee for whom they are claiming.
Upload any required supporting documentation, such as training contracts and wage records.
Submit the incentive claim application.
Step 3: Review & Approval
The Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR) assesses the claim.
If additional information is required, the employer is notified via the ADMS portal.
Once approved, the payment is processed to the employer’s nominated bank account.

Trainees

Steps for Trainees/Apprentices to Claim Payments
Apprentices and trainees may be eligible for Australian Apprenticeship Support Loans and other incentives.

Step 1: Registration & Eligibility Confirmation
The trainee/apprentice registers on the ADMS portal.
Eligibility is assessed by an AASN provider.
Step 2: Submitting the Claim
The trainee logs in and completes the claim form.
Required supporting evidence (e.g., payslips, training progress reports) must be uploaded.
The claim is then submitted for review.
Step 3: Processing & Payment
The DEWR assesses the claim.
Once approved, payments are made directly to the apprentice’s bank account.

Key Considerations
Deadlines: Claims must be submitted within the specified timeframes outlined in the ADMS.
Compliance: Employers and trainees must ensure they meet the training contract obligations to remain eligible for payments.
Ongoing Requirements: Employers may need to provide progress reports or evidence of continued employment.
