Equipment
- Computer with speakers, microphone and webcam
- Google chrome browser
- Microsoft Word or Google Sheets
- Stable internet connection
- Our portal is also available on an app. If you have an apple or android phone, you can access our app.
Technical Skills
To enrol in this course, you will be able to complete the below tasks without assistance:
🔐 1. Logging In and Navigating an Online Portal
- Know how to log in using a username and password
- Move around different sections of a website (like clicking tabs or menu buttons)
- Similar to using Facebook or shopping online (e.g. looking at different pages or clicking links)
🖥️ 2. Using a Keyboard and Mouse (or Touchscreen)
- Type messages, short answers, or assessments
- Use a mouse or touchscreen to click on buttons or scroll
- Like writing a post or comment on social media
🌐 3. Basic Internet Skills
- Open and use a web browser (e.g. Chrome, Safari)
- Understand how to use tabs and go back and forth between pages
- Like googling something or watching YouTube
📧 4. Using Email
- Open, read and reply to emails
- Check for messages from your trainer or the training team
- Like checking your Gmail or Outlook inbox and replying
📅 5. Using Zoom for Live Sessions (Not typically required for this course)
- Join a Zoom meeting using a link
- Turn your microphone and camera on or off
- Use Zoom chat to ask questions or respond
- Similar to using FaceTime or joining a group video call
📁 6. Opening and Using Online Documents
- Open files like PDFs, Word docs, or Google Docs
- Read and follow instructions inside a document
- Like opening attachments in an email or reading a downloaded flyer
✅ 7. Completing Online Forms and Activities
- Fill in short quizzes, forms or checklists online
- Save or submit work using a button
- Like filling in a form to sign up for a competition or event
🛠️ 8. Troubleshooting Basic Tech Issues
- Refresh a web page or reopen a link if something doesn’t load
- Know how to restart a Zoom session or device if needed
- Like when an app doesn’t work and you close and reopen it
