Non accredited S2/S3 course for Student Visa Holders
Overview
The non accredited S2/S3 course is an excellent starting point for student visa holders looking to launch a career in pharmacy, providing essential skills in supporting the supply of pharmacy medicines and assisting with pharmacist-only medications. As part of the QCPP requirements, all staff who supply Pharmacy Medicines or assist pharmacists in supplying Pharmacist Only Medicines must complete training through a recognised course. This course covers the requirement for QCPP listed below.
QCPP will now accept evidence of successful completion for these staff. This applies only to International Student Visa pharmacy assistants affected by CRICOS constraints; all other staff should continue with accredited SIRCIND002 approved training as normal.
Training Overview
Course Delivery
This course is completed online alongside paid employment or 15 hours of work placement. The program contains learning and assessment including simulated performance activities as well as a checklist for a supervising Pharmacist to complete. Students are provided with 60 days access to the portal to complete the required training and assessment. Course extensions are available at $50 per four week period. Typical timeframe for course completion is 15-20 hours (excluding work placement if required).
Training
Training for this course is completed by:
- Reviewing and engaging in our Learner Guide that contains detailed readings and the video training workshops.
- Completing the learning log. This log supports you confirm you have developed the knowledge and skills before undertaking assessment.
Assessment
Assessment for this course is completed by:
- The completion of written short answer questions and checklists
- The completion of your learning log
- The completion of a supervisor report completed by a supervising Pharmacist
- Completing our simulated performance activities in the portal
Online Portal
All course resources are provided in our Axcelerate portal. Our course is 100% paperless providing you with 24/7 access to course content. Students undertaking this course will be able to use a computer and various internet programs without assistance.
Entry Requirements
Entry into this qualification is available for individuals:
- Who are student visa holders
- Able to read and write in English
- Have the technical skills and equipment to undertake our programs
- 16 years of age or older (parent or guardian consent is required for under 18)
- Can complete a minimum of 15 hours of work experience in a Pharmacy or currently work in a Pharmacy. Please note a work placement host must be confirmed before your course can commence.

I’m a Student Visa holder, can I undertake study with AVA?
Student Visa holders undertake nationally recognised training with CRICOS providers. Our team can review your specific visa to determine if you are eligible to undertake training with a domestic provider. Our College cannot accept enrolments from Student Visa holders unless the course is non accredited.
